How do tariffs, tariff zones and delivery costs work?

Our platform works within a clear and thoughtful logic. You must define a delivery zone and specify the standard delivery cost within that zone.

Here are the main cases of using tariff zones:

  • Delivery can be free. This is the easiest option. Simply set in the Tariff zone and in the Tariffs - 0.

  • Delivery can be free for orders over a certain amount. In this case, the customer needs to place an order above this specified amount in order to receive free delivery. Otherwise, delivery cost = standard delivery price. Delivery costs are calculated and displayed in the shopping cart automatically at checkout. Here, too, everything is as clear as possible for the client. To do this, you need to create a Free delivery promotion.

  • Delivery can be free within a certain distance from the restaurant to the client (for example, within a radius of 3 km) and an additional charge for long distances (according to tariff zones). In this case, if the customer specified an address outside the standard zone in the cart, they will see a notification about the need for additional payment. You can also display an additional notification in the app and on a site of this type: "Please note. We deliver for free within 3 km, and for a fee by taxi outside this radius. The cost of delivery by taxi will be calculated after placing the order." This alert can be displayed when the client launches the app or enters the site. You can set up an alert in the Control Panel → Cities → edit → Note field.

An example of using tariffing for distant areas is the Mister.Am delivery service (600+ restaurants, 15 cities, hundreds of thousands of customers, rating 4.8 in Google Play and AppStore).
