The main task of the cashier/company manager is to receive and process notifications and orders in the Dots Business app. He is also responsible for issuing the order to the courier/customer and placing orders at the company location itself.






Work duties of a cashier



Depending on the access, the duties of the cashier may include:


Receiving new notifications.
Work with orders (confirmation, modification, cancellation, etc.).
Control of the overall situation on the line.
Operating modes' management.
Communication with operators and company administrators.
On-site ordering.
Customer review management.
Company menu management.

Getting started




To get started, you need to log in to the Dots Business app or its web version using the account name, login, and password. See here for more details.




To disable or enable audio alerts, swipe right and switch the Sound toggle in the menu on the left.

Then make sure the company phone numbers are available and login to the POS terminal (if required).

Select the Active status in order to start accepting orders. Learn more on how to change statuses




Working in the app




During the shift, you need to check and respond to new notifications in the Notifications tab. For more information, see here Use this tab to check for new orders, as well as notifications of cancelled orders and new reviews. In addition, notifications allow you to accept or reject new orders.



The main task of the cashier/company manager is to confirm and process orders in the In process tab. For more information, see here

The main work with the order takes place in the order card, which contains information about the customer, pickup details, and payment information of the order. If necessary, you can change the order price and the estimated pickup time. For more information, see here




Dots Platform allows you to upload orders to POS systems. In addition, integration with other POS systems is available through the use of the webhook API.

Before that, you need to sync your POS system with Dots Platform and configure the integration for each individual location. In addition, you need to export external product identifiers from the POS system to Dots and set up identical promotions on both platforms.

Use the New order tab in cases when customers want to place an order on-site, or by phone. For more information, see here




Use the Menu tab to manage company products. It allows you to hide each product/dish or change its price. For more information, see here




An important part of the cashier’s/manager’s duties is working with customer reviews in the Reviews tab. They help to see the general mood of customers, respond to incidents in time and improve the quality of service. For more information, see here




Go to the Archive tab to view summary information on completed orders for the selected period of time. Here you can find a list of all completed orders, which can be downloaded in PDF format. For more information, see here




Go to the Reports tab to view the statistics of the company and the main operating indicators. You must have permission to access this tab. For more information, see here
