Order assembly mode in the Company Panel

Additional Company Panel mode for businesses that pick orders containing many items (grocery stores, shops, pharmacies). In this mode, an «Order assembly» button appears in the order card. It opens a separate window with a list of items: the employee marks each item as picked, sees the product barcode next to it, and can compare it with the product in hand. The «Order assembled» button in this window remains inactive until all items are marked. «Assembled» is a separate order status; it does not affect «Ready».

Important notes:

  1. The mode is enabled in the Company Panel settings separately on each device (in the browser). It is disabled by default. Enabling it in one browser does not change anything for other employees or devices.
  2. «Assembled» and «Ready» are two independent statuses. «Order assembled» only marks the order as picked: it does not make the order ready, the status does not change, and the customer and courier do not receive any notifications. «Order Ready» works the same way as before and can be pressed regardless of whether the order has been picked or not.
  3. The item marks are stored only in the browser of the device where the order is being picked, for 24 hours. If picking is continued on another device, it will start from zero there. After pressing «Order assembled», the order is saved in the system as picked and is shown as fully picked on every device with the mode enabled.
  4. The barcode is shown only for products with a completed EAN field. Products without an EAN are shown in the list without a barcode. The code is saved in the order at the time the order is placed.

The EAN field is filled in when editing the product card in the catalog.

Requirements for this field. Product barcode, up to 64 characters. 13 digits (EAN-13), 8 digits (EAN-8), and 12 digits (UPC) are displayed in their standard format. Other codes are displayed as Code 128. If the code cannot be rendered, only the digits are shown.

  1. To scan a barcode from the screen, an imager scanner (2D) is required. Many laser scanners cannot read a barcode from a monitor or tablet screen. The digits under the barcode can always be checked or entered manually.

Activating the picking mode:

  1. Open the Company Panel = go to Settings

  1. Enable Order assembly mode.

Please note! The setting belongs to the browser, not the business or account. After clearing the browser data, you need to enable it again.

  1. Return to the orders and open the order. It must have been accepted by the business and must be in the Active tab.
  2. Click Order assembly.

  1. Pick the products and mark each item (and «Packaging» if it is included in the list). Check the products using their barcodes.

  1. When the counter shows that everything has been picked, click Order assembled in the picking window. Mark the order as ready using the regular Order Ready button when it is actually ready.

  1. On devices with the mode enabled, a picked order receives the Assembled label with a package icon — in the order list and in the order card header. It is shown next to the Ready label, not instead of it: an order can be picked but not yet ready, ready but not picked, or both picked and ready.

Please note! On devices with the mode disabled, the «Assembled» label is not displayed, even for picked orders.

Usage examples and tips

  • Example 1: A grocery store with pickup. The picker enables the mode on the warehouse tablet, opens the accepted order, clicks «Order assembly», takes the products from the shelves, scans or checks the barcodes, marks the items, and clicks «Order assembled». The order receives the «Assembled» label. When the order is handed over to the customer, the employee clicks «Order Ready» as usual.
  • Example 2: Courier delivery. The order can be picked immediately after the business accepts it. It becomes ready only after the regular «Order Ready» button is pressed — picking does not affect this.
  • Example 3: A manager checks what has been packed. On a device with the mode enabled, the manager opens an order marked «Assembled», clicks «Order assembly», and sees all items with their barcodes in view-only mode. Tip: first, fill in the "EAN" field for the products — without it, the checklist works, but there will be no barcodes to check against.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ

  1. Question: The «Order assembly» button is missing.

Check that «Order assembly mode» is enabled in «Settings» on this device. The button appears only after the business accepts the order and is not displayed for new, completed, or cancelled orders.

  1. Question: «Order assembled» is inactive.

Not everything has been marked. Open «Order assembly» and check the «Picked X of Y» counter; do not forget the «Packaging» row.

  1. Question: There is no barcode next to the product.

The EAN field for this product is empty or the order was placed before the EAN was filled in (the code is saved in the order at the time the order is placed). Fill in the field in the product card in the admin panel — the barcode will appear in new orders.

  1. Question: The EAN was corrected, but the old barcode is displayed in an old order.

This is expected: the code is saved in the order at the time the order is placed. Orders created after the correction will contain the new code.

  1. Question: The barcode cannot be scanned.

Check that an imager scanner (2D) is being used, increase the screen brightness, and try again. The digits under the barcode can be checked manually.

  1. Question: The marks have disappeared.

They are stored only on the device where they were added, for 24 hours. On another device, after 24 hours, or after clearing the browser data, picking starts from zero.

  1. Question: The order is Assembled but not ready.

This is expected. «Assembled» and «Ready» are independent: mark the order as ready using the «Order Ready» button.

  1. Question: The «Assembled» label is not displayed.

The label is displayed only on devices with «Order assembly mode» enabled and only after clicking «Order assembled» in the picking window.

  1. Question: Can the mark be removed after «Order assembled»?

No. A picked order is displayed in view-only mode.

  1. Question: Does the customer see anything new?

No. Picking does not send any notifications. The customer receives the usual «order ready» notification only after «Order Ready» is clicked.

  1. Question: How do I disable the mode?

«Settings» → disable «Order assembly mode». The «Order assembly» button and «Assembled» label will disappear; orders remain marked as picked in the system.
