2.0 Creating custom HTML code in Google Tag ManagerSet up Facebook Pixel events in Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is a solution from Google that allows you to place scripts on the website pages without interfering with its code.

After setting up the integration with Google Tag Manager, you will be able to install various tools for the website, including:

Google Analytics
Google Adwords
Facebook Pixel
Etc.

All codes must be placed in the GTM account, after that, the corresponding container will appear on the website. To do this, just add the ID of your container in the integration settings with Google Tag Manager.

Creating custom HTML code in Google Tag Manager

First, create a Google Tag Manager account.

Go to Tags section and click New.

In the window that appears, click Tag configuration.

In the list that appears, select Custom HTML.

Then select all available pages.

At the top right of the screen, click Save > Submit, and then Publish.

Set up Facebook Pixel events in Google Tag Manager

You can generate the code yourself and add it to Google Tag Manager.

In your Facebook Business account, you can set up events without a code. To do this, the account administrator needs to open the app or website and select the buttons for the events.

First, click the Menu icon and go to Events Manager.

Then go to Data Sources and click Add New Data Source.

In one of the steps, Facebook will offer you several ways to add the pixel. Select Manually add pixel code to website.

Copy the pixel code to your clipboard and paste it into Google Tag Manager.

After that, you need to open the website and check whether it’s working. The Facebook Pixel Helper browser extension allows you to see if Pixel is installed on the website and what events it sends to Facebook.

After installing the extension for your browser, go back to Events Manager and make sure that Pixel is working.

You can configure events for a website in the same way. To do this, select the Track new button or Track a URL option.

To configure events on the website, click Open Events Setup Tool.

In the window that appears, click Include Value and Currency and select the desired options.

For more information on how to add events, see here.
