On this tab, the main parameters of the category are created and adjusted during its creation or editing. Categories allow you to structure certain products of the company for ease of search.

Setting up a Category:


Select the Companies section in the Control Panel.
Click on the edit icon opposite the desired company.
Go to Catalog => Categories tab.
Click the edit icon opposite the desired category or the Create button.
Enter the required information in the General tab (see below).
Click Save.




Setup requirements - General tab



Name. The name of the product category that will be displayed in the client part of the service, the Control Panel and in the Dots Business app. It can be specified in any format.
Examples:
Burgers
Salads
Pizza

Status. Responsible for displaying the selected category.
Active. The selected category is displayed in the company's menu on the website and in mobile apps.
Inactive. The selected category is not displayed in the client part of the service, but will be available in the Dots Business app.

Priority. The numerical value of the priority that affects the place of the category in the menu on the website and in mobile apps. The higher the value in the field, the higher the priority.

Link. Category name to form its URL. It is indicated only in Latin letters, without numbers, spaces and special characters.
Examples:
burgers
salads
pizza



Packaging. Responsible for choosing the packaging option for all products in the category.
Free. Packaging is free for all products of the selected category.
Specific packaging. Previously created packaging will be added to all products of the category.
Note: The selected packaging option will be applied to all products in the current category with standard packaging parameters. If necessary, you can choose a separate package for each product of the category.

Max.amount of products in a package. The maximum number of products of a category that can fit in one package. It is indicated in pieces.
Example:
If the selected package can fit 3 products, then 3 must be specified in this field.

City category. Choose the corresponding category (filter) of the city. The classifier of the selected city category is automatically linked to the company's product category.

External identifier. Product category ID for integration with POS systems.

Modifier groups. Allows you to select modifier groups used in this category.
