If two orders can be delivered within a single route, the system can merge them together. This optimizes the delivery process, saves time and resources.

Table of contents:

Enable automatic merging of orders
Max. delivery time of merged orders
Time buffer between pick-ups

After enabling this feature, the system will automatically merge two orders within the single route and close delivery time.

To enable automatic merging of deliveries:

In the Control Panel, click City Management.
Locate the city you need and click the pencil icon.
Click the Logistics tab.
Select the Enable automatic merging of orders checkbox.
Click Save.

1. Enable automatic merging of deliveries

For the system to merge orders automatically, it is required to add the maximum delivery time of merged orders (from pick-up until it is delivered to the customer). It allows the products in the merged orders to stay fresh during the delivery process.

To set up the maximum delivery time of merged orders:

In the Control Panel, click Settings.
Locate the city you need and click the pencil icon.
Click the Delivery → Order Merging tab.
In the Max. delivery time of merged orders, set the desired time in minutes.
Click Save.

The default value is 25 minutes.
Example
If the value = 25 and the pick-up time of the first and the second order is 1 PM and 1:15 PM, respectively, then for successful merging, the delivery time of the first order must be no later than 1:25 PM (1:00 PM + 25 min), and the second - 1:40 PM (1:15 PM + 25 min).

2. Max. delivery time of merged orders

Set the maximum time buffer between orders’ pick-ups that can be merged.

To set the time buffer:

In the Control Panel, click Settings.
Locate the city you need and click the pencil icon.
Click the Delivery → Order Merging tab.
In the Time buffer between pick-ups, set the desired time in minutes.
Click Save.

The default value is 10 minutes.
Example
If the value = 15 and the pick-up time in the first location is 1:00 PM, then for successful merging, the pick-up time in the second location has to be no later than 1:15 PM.

3. Time buffer between pick-ups

In the Monitoring Panel, merged delivery orders are connected with a green line and have a chain icon highlighted in green.

When clicking the paperclip icon, you’ll see the delivery map and other technical info.

Important: In case of multiple drop-off delivery, both customers will see all the courier's movements, which may cause confusion. If necessary, you can disable the Display courier’s position for all your customers.
