2.0 Use of users' personal data
In most countries, the rules for the collection, storage, and processing of users’ personal data are regulated by law. To provide services to citizens of these countries, the service must comply with the regulations of these countries.
If your business operates in the EU, it must comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. Dots Platform provides the ability to customize the cookies notification message in accordance with the GDPR and stricter regulations.

Privacy Policy
A cookies notification message is a pop-up notice that users will get the first time they visit your website. To configure it, in the Control Panel, go to Settings > Interfaces > Privacy Policy tab. Use the Cookie notification message and Method of obtaining permission fields to configure a cookie notice.
When you switch the method of obtaining permission from simpler to more complex modes, the user sessions in the application will be reset. That’s why users will have to log in to the app again. When switching in the reverse order, no reset occurs.
Note: When you switch modes, the status of permissions for the use of personal data does not change. The user can grant or revoke permission to use personal data only personally. To do this, they need to contact a service representative, whose contact details must be provided in the Privacy Policy of your service.
When adding new users, they must provide permission to store and process their personal data, as well as transfer it to third parties. There’s also optional permission to use personal data for marketing purposes. That’s why there are two checkboxes on the page:
Permission to process and transfer personal data. Gives the permissions for storing and processing personal data in the system, as well as for the transfer of data to third parties to ensure the provision of services. This permission is mandatory when adding a new user.
Subscription status. When enabled, the user’s contacts are available for push and email campaigns.
