# How to set up a gift promotion using a promo code?

In order for the user to receive a free dish using a promo code, it is necessary to create a Discount promotion. In the conditions of this promotion, you must indicate which dish it applies to and set the percentage of the discount to 100%, and By promo code type of application. After that, you need to create a promo campaign to which you will link this Promotion.

After adding a promotional dish to order, you can apply a promotional code on the checkout page, after which the cost will be recalculated and the cost of the promotional dish will be deducted from the order amount.
