# 2.0 Control panel. Settings. Languages

You can enable or disable certain UI languages. These languages appear in the language menu on the website and in the app.

# To set up available languages:

1.  In the Control Panel, click **Settings**.    
2.  Go to the **Languages** tab.
3.  Click the edit icon next to the desired language => set the required "Status".
4.  Click **Save.**

# Available statuses:
*   **Active**. Language is available for customers on the website and in the app.    
*   **Inactive**. The language doesn’t appear in the selection menu on the website and in the app.    
*   **Hidden**. The language doesn’t appear in the selection menu on the website and in the app, but webpages in this language are available by direct link.
    
**Important:** Before enabling the language, you must first set up all the necessary translations, for example translations of product categories, translations of promotions, etc.
**Important:** You cannot change the status for the default language of your project. The default language will not be highlighted in italics.
